This year’s CSI awards saw the prize for Best Content Protection Technology go to Edgeware for its forensic watermarking solution. The technology which is a joint solution with ContentArmor, has been recognized for multiple awards since its debut at IBC2017, including the IABM’s Design and Innovation Awards at IBC2017.
By deploying a TV CDN from Edgeware along with its watermarking solution, television service providers can protect their highly valuable content from internet pirates. The solution gives them the forensic tools they need to quickly track down offenders when content is stolen.
Edgeware’s chief marketing officer Richard Brandon said: “This award represents how important the industry feels content protection is – especially as the way video is delivered continues to evolve. Our team has worked hard to ensure video content is secured through all stages of the delivery process and to stop piracy threatening the industry as much we can.”
One of the many benefits of Edgeware’s robust integration with ContentArmor’s watermarking technology is that it stores and sends a single copy of the original show. This is in place of legacy methods that watermark content using two versions of the same program. Edgeware’s watermarking solution creates a visual code unique to each viewer which can be easily tracked if redistributed illegally.
